The SMART Initiative organized a two-day 2023 High-Level Technical Assessment Workshop in Nairobi, Kenya from the 16th – 17th of November 2023. The aim of this workshop was to provide a convening for global technical experts in nutrition assessments for the advancement and continued improvement of field practices, Nutrition Information Systems (NIS), knowledge sharing, collaborative capacity building, improved access to quality data, and updates on research and innovation. This was the first reconvening for this annual workshop post COVID-19 pandemic cancellations.

The 2023 nutrition SMART surveys in Cabo Delgado and Nampula provinces of Mozambique were successfully completed owing to the efforts and participation of many individuals, institutions and agencies at various levels.

YEMEN NUTRITION INFORMATION SYSTEM REFLECTION AND IMPROVEMENT WORKSHOP
Amman, Jordan May 30th to June 2nd, 2022
A four-day workshop was held in Amman from May 30th to June 2nd, 2022. This was the first opportunity post-COVID to bring together stakeholders in person to support Yemen NIS and for wider global applications in other fragile and conflict-affected states. The workshop included reflection on the existing NIS in Yemen, identifying data collection gaps, and further development of practical and cost-effective nutrition data collection and analysis methods.
